Miss Rebecca wants to remind all our library friends to bring their earned Adventure Begins Summer Reading 2024 raffle tickets into the library this week! 🎟️🎉📚 Our raffle basket table is setup where our Summer Reading table was inside the library. Stop by (with your tickets!) to checkout pictures/descriptions of the available baskets and decide which one(s) you want a chance to win! The last day to bring in your raffle tickets is Saturday, August 17th from 9am-1pm.

Join Miss Rebecca and your science loving library friends for our special Science in the Summer programs! 🪐🧑‍🚀 Register for 8/15 at 2pm or 8/22 at 12pm to become planetary geologists! Our estimated time for power to be restored at the library is not until we would already be closing for the day. Due to this, the library will be CLOSED today, Friday, August 9th. 📣📣 Tomorrow, Wednesday, July 31st from 12-5pm the library will only be open for our Drop-In Harry Potter Birthday Event. This will allow us to use the entire library for this fun and special event for all ages! We will be open for normal library services before and after the event.

Who's ready to celebrate "the boy who lived" with your fellow witches, wizards, and muggles during our Harry Potter Birthday Drop-In Event?! 🥳 Mark your calendars to stop by and join us for games, crafts, activities, snacks, and Harry's birthday cake on Wednesday, July 31st from 1-4pm! This event will be held throughout the library, since we will be closing early to accommodate the space needed for this special celebration! Registration is not required to drop-in and be a part of the overall event, however there are a few registration required wand making sessions that will be taking place during the event, you can find them listed on our events calendar. Dressing up as your favorite character or with Harry Potter accessories is encouraged! Be on the lookout for Miss Rebecca dressed as the Golden Snitch!! 😄🎉

It’s almost time! Don’t miss the fun and beautiful (finally) spring weather at Readers on the Run tomorrow, 4/21, on the Struble Trail! And it begins! The Friends of the Downingtown Library is off to an awesome start! Be sure to stop in this weekend (tonight until 7:30, sat. 9-4, sun. 1-4, then continuing all next week) even if you came by tonight - there are SO many awesome books, movies, and music that the Friends will be replenishing the shelves as items sell!
