Elizabethton Senior Center of Carter County

Elizabethton Senior Center of Carter County A Place to Thrive! Serving Seniors in the Carter County Community since 1968!

Since 1968, the Elizabethton Senior Center has stood as a beloved cornerstone of our community. As a non-profit organization, we have dedicated ourselves to serving the seniors of Elizabethton and the surrounding area. Our journey began with a small group of seniors gathering in a house on our current property, and in 1981, thanks to the City of Elizabethton, we moved into a purpose-built facility

. Ever since, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to provide a safe haven for seniors to socialize, access programs, and receive unparalleled support from the community. Over the years, our services and activities have flourished, expanding to meet the evolving needs and desires of our senior population. Our fundamental goal is to foster a secure and inclusive environment, ensuring that every senior in Elizabethton and the surrounding area has a place to call their own. At the Elizabethton Senior Center, we offer much more than a physical space; we cultivate a vibrant community where seniors can forge new friendships, engage in enriching programs, and find solace and encouragement as they navigate the journey of aging. With great pride, we stand as a trusted resource for seniors, providing not only a gathering place but also a wealth of programs and services. From invigorating fitness classes and enlightening educational workshops to creative art programs and delightful community outings, our offerings are thoughtfully designed to address the holistic well-being of our seniors. As a non-profit organization, our unwavering commitment to our seniors is made possible through the incredible support of our community, the dedication of our volunteers, and the generosity of our donors. Together, we create a nurturing space where our cherished seniors can find care, companionship, and a profound sense of belonging. The Elizabethton Senior Center represents more than just a building—it stands as a testament to the heart and soul of our community. It embodies our core values of compassion, respect, and an unwavering appreciation for the wisdom and contributions of our aging population. As we journey forward, let us continue building a brighter future where our seniors can truly thrive and experience the fulfillment they so richly deserve.

Thank you, Elizabethton Federal Savings Bank , for your incredibly generous $2,000 donation to the Elizabethton Senior Center!

In the face of the recent loss of county funding, our community has continued to remind us that we are not facing this challenge alone. Time and again, local businesses, organizations, and individuals have stepped forward to invest in the lives of the older adults we are honored to serve.

This generous gift from Elizabethton Federal Savings Bank will help us continue providing programs, activities, resources, and a welcoming place where seniors can find friendship, support, and connection.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in our mission and for standing beside the seniors of Carter County. Your kindness is making a real and lasting difference.

❤️ Together, we are proving that when a community comes together, amazing things happen.

We are incredibly honored to have the Community Yard Sale featured in the Elizabethton Star, but the real story isn't about the event—it's about the people behind it.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to Shelly McMurray, Brittney George, Samantha Forrester, and the amazing staff of Sonshine Children's Academy for seeing a need and simply deciding to help.

No one asked them to organize a community yard sale. They chose to invest their time, energy, and countless hours because they believe in supporting local nonprofits and strengthening our community. That kind of generosity cannot be measured.

We are also deeply grateful to every volunteer, every person who donated items, donated funds, and everyone who came out to shop and support. Together, you made a difference not only for the Elizabethton Senior Center, but also for the Boys & Girls Club of Elizabethton/Carter County and the Carter County Animal Shelter.

Your kindness is a beautiful reminder that when neighbors come together with a servant's heart, incredible things happen.

Thank you for believing in our mission and for reminding us that we truly live in a community that cares. ❤️

Thank you, Elizabethton Star, for sharing this wonderful story with our community.

A special thank you to the ladies of the Elizabethton Senior Center who lovingly baked and donated delicious desserts. Your homemade treats were enjoyed by so many and made the day even sweeter.

We are incredibly grateful to Kim with Visiting Angels for generously donating the food and volunteering throughout the event, and to Pepsi for their generous support. Your partnership means so much to us.

A heartfelt thank you to Julie Williams & Willie Melton for donating your time and talent. Your music created such a fun and welcoming atmosphere, and we are so grateful for your generosity.
