Safety of our members and employees is our top priority. When damage to our system causes an outage to occur like last night, our employees respond as quickly and safely as possible to restore power to our members. Most often, repairs can be done within a couple of hours – but sometimes damage is more extensive or new issues surface as repairs are being made.

Because of this, it is essential that our members prepare for a time when they may be without power. Even with a medical note on an account, damage may prevent restoration until infrastructure can be repaired. And even with crews working as diligently as possible, that can take time.

If you or a loved one depends on a medical device that requires power, it is important to have a backup plan. Consult your health care provider for the best options. Making a plan in advance will help keep yourself and your loved ones safe and healthy while our crews are hard at work.

Be weather-aware this evening. Have your backup plan in place for necessary medical devices in the event the weather causes any outages.

A line of strong to severe thunderstorms currently over central Indiana and Ohio will drift towards and over our area over the next few hours, capable of producing damaging winds, frequent lightning, and torrential rainfall. Have multiple ways to receive warnings!
