Riordan Mansion Events

Riordan Mansion Events The Riordan Action Network promotes, advocates for, and raises funds on behalf of Riordan Mansion Sta ft. Arts and Crafts-style dwelling for their two families.

In 1904 brothers Timothy and Michael Riordan worked with Charles Whittlesey, the architect who designed El Tovar on the south rim of Grand Canyon, to build this magnificent 13,000 sq. The children of Tim and Michael Riordan deeded the house, garage, original furniture, clothing, and household items, and acreage to the Arizona State Parks system in the 1970s to preserve and protect this pristine ex

ample of early Arizona history and to serve as an educational center for all ages. The park offers information on the history of Northern Arizona through guided tours, hands-on exhibits, lecture series, and educational outreach. Riordan Mansion State Historic Park is owned and operated by Arizona State Parks & Trails. The Riordan Action Network gladly provides support to the park for maintenance, preservation and educational programming. Your donation to the Riordan Action Network is critical. We need your donation to keep Riordan Mansion maintained and open to the public, so that future generations can enjoy this extraordinary example of architecture and learn about this pivotal time in Flagstaff’s history.

Riordan Mansion Evening Lecture: Arizona at 250!!!
Come Join us Tuesday, May 26th from 5:30-6:30 for our Evening lecture lead by Dr. Kelley Hays-Gilpin. We look back at the founding of the United States, nearly 250 years ago. In the struggle between American colonists and the British Empire, how did Indigenous people and the Spanish Empire play a role? And what was happening in what’s now Arizona while a war for independence was raging in the east?

Dr. Hays-Gilpin is the Edward Bridge Danson, Jr. Chair of Anthropology at the Museum of Northern Arizona (MNA) and also Professor of Anthropology at NAU. She holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Arizona and has nearly 40 years of experience studying rock art, pottery and other visual arts in the Southwest.

Space is limited. Reserve your spot online at https://azstateparks.com/reserve/Activities/Search.aspx or call 928-779-4395 for additional information and same day availability. The presentation will be free thanks to Riordan Action Network.
