Dear Parents of Waynesville R-VI Kindergartners:

We are so excited to share that your kindergartner will attend Kinder Kamp during the first week of school Aug. 24-28! This fun and exciting week will conclude with a Kinder Kamp Teacher Reveal Celebration.

About Kinder Kamp:

All Waynesville R-VI kindergartners will participate in Kinder Kamp during regular school hours for the first five days of school.

Kinder Kamp is a week-long experience, which is designed to ensure best placement for students to have a successful kindergarten year.

Students will work with multiple kindergarten teachers during the first four days of school through fun, hands-on learning activities

On Friday, Aug. 28, students will find out their permanent teacher placement for the year and celebrate with their new classmates

Meet the Teacher Night will be meet “ALL” the Kindergarten teachers

During Meet the Teacher Night from 4 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 20 at your school, kindergartners and their parents will participate in a “Meet and Greet” with all kindergarten teachers. This will be held in a centralized location at each of our elementary schools (East, Freedom, Partridge, Thayer and Wood). Please note that we will “assign” a teacher’s name to your kindergartner BEFORE school starts, but please keep in mind that it is only a temporary placeholder.

Kindergartners will learn their teacher’s name on Friday and start classes with their teacher on Aug. 31.

School supplies

Kindergartners are encouraged to bring their school supplies during the Aug. 20 Meet and Greet. Supplies will be placed in a bag with your child’s name on it and then the supplies will be delivered to their permanent teacher and classroom on Aug. 31.
