We are sad to share the news of the passing of Robert Wheeler. Bob was a long-time member of the Rotary Club of Goffstown as well as a public servant for the community. We will always remember his dedication to our club, his love for Goffstown, and his ability to make us smile. We send our deepest condolences to his family and friends.

One of the discussion topics for our club's meeting next week is how to increase our impact. We're a small club, and we do a lot, but we know there are other needs out there. We raise funds through our car show and a raffle to donate to other groups, we conduct a food drive and other events, but we want to hear from YOU. If you were a Rotarian (and YOU COULD BE, ask us how!), what would YOU tackle in our local communities?

Thanks to a grant from Rotary District 7870 and the Rotary Foundation, we will be able to continue installing plants in the flower barrels in Weare's town center. Thank you also goes out to our partners in the Weare Garden Club for maintaining the plantings all season long. Hope you have enjoyed seeing the blooms!

What will you do this week to make a lasting impact in your community? That's the question we will be asking ourselves NEXT week. We are taking this week off from meeting up, and hope you'll join us next Tuesday, 7:30 a.m., Goffstown Parks and Rec as we tackle this question.

This week was a banner week for our club, as promised here are some photos of our Richard C. Hopf Citizen of the Year, Heleen Kurk. We think she's a great choice for this honor, don't you?

Drum roll, please: today, the Goffstown Rotary Club was proud to announce our Richard C. Hopf Citizen of the Year for 2025-2026, Heleen Kurk of Weare. Each year, we identify one person who exemplifies the Rotary philosophy of "Service Above Self", and Heleen fits that bill perfectly! As one of her fans said, "If there is something good happening in Weare, you can be sure Heleen had a hand in it!" Heleen gave credit to ALL the volunteers in Weare who work diligently to make it thrive, as all good leaders do, she knows nothing gets done by 1 person alone. The accolade comes with a donation to the charity of the recipient's choice, in this case, the Hand in Hand Senior Center & Thrift Shop.

Rich Hopf was the charter member of our club, and we honor his memory each year. His memory lives on in all of us who are members of this small, but mighty group.

Although our name says "Goffstown" we are proud of the work we do in and for Weare, and we invite anyone living in Weare to consider joining us.
