This is where The Leader in Me comes in. Oaktree Elementary School is a The Leader in Me School. If you are unfamiliar with The Leader in Me or need a refresher, The Leader in Me is:

1. Is a process designed to help teachers develop leadership skills in their students.
2. Helps students discover their unique strengths.
3. Gives all students an opportunity to shine—to become leaders.
4. Helps infuse the language of the 7 Habits into all the curriculum.

Please help your child be prepared. Students should:

▪️Wear class shirt
▪️Wear tennis shoes
▪️Pack hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc.
▪️Bring a labeled and refillable water bottle

Students are encouraged to BRING A LUNCH from home on field day. Hot lunch will be available for anyone who needs it.

Feel free to come join us at anytime (you MUST have a current iChat on file).

Oaktree Elementary welcomed special guest Duane Abel from Corkey Comics this week for his inspiring “Draw Your Destiny” assembly! Through live cartooning, storytelling, and humor, Duane encouraged students to dream big, set goals, and believe in the power of education, reading, and perseverance. Students left feeling motivated to create their own path and “draw” their destiny!

A special thank you to the Martian PTO for sponsoring this wonderful visit for our students!

Oaktree is proud to announce that we took 1st Place in the 2026 Dimes for Diapers School Challenge sponsored by ELGA Credit Union and ABC12!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our students, families, and staff, we raised an amazing $7,881.01 to support the Flint Diaper Bank and help local babies and families in need.

A special congratulations goes out to Lincoln Cushman, who was our top student contributor during the campaign, and to Mrs. Dziduch’s 4th grade class for being our top contributing classroom.

We are so grateful to everyone who donated and helped show the power of teamwork, kindness, and giving back. Once again, our Oaktree students proved what it means to be Martian STRONG!
