Congratulations to the team at Brown County Emergency Management for being recognized as a Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador! #StormReady #wiwx

A great way to close out National Preparedness Month. You may not be able to tell, but we are all smiling. The US National Weather Service Green Bay Wisconsin came to our office to award us with a Certificate of Recognition for creating www.FloodinginBC.com, facilitating flood preparedness meetings with community members, creating a flood preparedness mailer, and partaking in multiple presentations on high water levels in our region. These efforts have helped us be recognized as a Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador to the National Weather Service. A big thank you to all of our community partners and stakeholders. Without you, our efforts would be for nothing. We wouldn't have people attending our meetings, presentations, and steering traffic to the website without your participation, so thank you all.

Any Brown County official that votes in favor of masks will NOT have my vote the next time they come up for reelection.
Just got attacked on Facebook by a Brown County Employee. Who can I lodge a formal complaint with?
Hello, I was wondering what the expectations are for when families and others are using Brown County Parks, with the restrooms being closed. When people with small children etc. are having picnics for the holiday. I don’t think it’s healthier to have people relieving themselves around the park.
We have just read that the Brown County Board voted to extend the county's emergency declaration until June 17. We understand this doesn't mean immediate shutdown of anything, but we STRONGLY protest to this action! Please, for the love of God, stop this madness! Brown County needs to be able to get back to business without continually being afraid of another lockdown of any sort. An "increase in cases" of the virus means NOTHING; in fact, the more you test, the more cases we might see. But 85% of all "cases" need no medical care and 98.5% of all who get the virus fully recover. The only thing that should cause any hint of action might be a SHARP spike in HOSPITALIZATIONS and/or DEATHS. That is not happening, so you need to stop threatening "action" to "protect" us. We cannot take anymore of the uncertainty. If you care one whit for the emotional and economic health of people in this county, you'll ignore the "power" you were given and let us go on trying to recover the lives that have been robbed from us for the past two months!
Brown county health officer does not have the authority to issue restrictive order.
Kenosha County Health Office has issued a statement saying that the county health department officials do not have the authority to issue restrictive corona virus orders . The WI supreme court ruling also applies to local health departments! Cease all threats to businesses who open for business! Immediately!
Good morning Mr. Streckenbach. Could you or your health official please update us on the status of the 6th criterium for reopening? We have satisfied the other 5. (see link) but curiously, the 6th has not been updated since Monday. I would think if Brown County is going to simply push forward Andrea Palm's order, you would check on that regularly to see if the criteria has been met. Perhaps there is an official source you can point me to that is regularly updated but the source I linked is the only one I know of. The only thing we are waiting on to "turn the dial" according to the state's order (cited in Brown County's order) is a statistically significant downward trend in emergency room visits with flu-like symptoms over a 14 day period. And if we do meet that goal before the 20th, will the order be lifted as it was intended to under Andrea Palm's order, or will the arbitrary date of May 20th be imposed on these suffering businesses purely out of fear, or an "abundance of caution" at the continued expense of our small businesses?
I am constituent of the City of Green Bay. I am also a student, teacher, wife, daughter an nurse. I am a long term care/rehab nurse. I do not want to stand bye an watch people that I take care die because of this stupidity. Why should I put my life on the line day in an day out while others would let me die for their indulgence! How many people do we stand bye an let die because we let politics dictate health. Money is replaceable, lives are not. The science is sound that the safer at home orders is effective! Please follow suit as Dane County and Madison, places who have less positives then our county. I plead with you as a daughter of a dad who is compromised, as wife to someone else who works with people day in an day out, and as a nurse, taking care of some of our most vulnerable populations, that you follow the science an put people's lives above money.
Nice meeting you last night Troy. Here's that photo I was telling you about.
