It's Volunteer Appreciation Week! Thank you, Brown County Volunteers!

Thank you to our Family Interaction Volunteers who support the whole family during a difficult time. In 2024 the Family Center offered 2068 visits and served 482 families and 910 children, providing just over 2800 hours of visits. Your help makes this possible!

We are looking for a family to take placement of two siblings-female age 2 and male age 3. These two can easily go with the flow. The oldest has lots of energy but can quickly be redirected. Both children attend day care fulltime and are fantastic sleepers and enjoy naps. There are times they wake up during the night but are quickly soothed to sleep with a back rub. The oldest has mastered the skill of potty training and his younger sister shortly behind him. They enjoy most foods, so mealtimes are easy. Pets should be introduced slowly as they can be cautious around animals.

April is Month and I issued a proclamation last week to staff with County HHS - Community Services Child Protection. I'm proud of the work this team does which prioritizes putting first and keeping children with whenever possible, while putting the child at the center of every decision through Child Centered Teams!

For children who enter out of home care, relationships with their siblings are one of the most important connections they have. Entering foster care is likely the most difficult time in a child's life and the ability to keep siblings together is so valuable.
