Operation Community Cares seeking volunteers.

Thank you to Elaina Koltz at UWGB for sharing this with us. If you feel you can help, please make a difference.

Help - Volunteers needed!

This email is going out to friends, neighbors, fellow veterans and service members in the community. As veterans and veteran advocates we are known to step up when our country needs us. Now our local community desperately needs volunteers. Before the virus, it was mostly the older, retired members of the community that delivered meals on wheels. With the virus targeting everyone, especially the elderly, we need to make sure these meals and other important supplies get delivered.

Operation Community Cares (OCC) https://www.occwi.org/ is a Brown County coalition dedicated to help the Greater Green Bay area in response to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as any future, local public emergencies such as natural disasters.

We are looking for healthy individuals to join our mission to help those in need. Volunteers would assist in safely delivering meals and other essential items, work on-site to package supplies, or simply help support our cause wherever possible! All safety practices will be in place.

Please apply to volunteer if you are able - fill out the attached form and we will contact you shortly. Cannot volunteer? There is the opportunity to donate items or funds for fuel cards; Also, please pass on to others who may be able to volunteer.

Need help? There is an area on the website to ask for needed items. Request items if you or someone you know needs help.

Questions? Please feel free to email Will Nething, the Executive Director of OCC, at [email protected].

Thank you for stepping up and doing something desperately needed in our community!

Now, civilians are experiencing the same kind of crisis stress that is well known to military veterans

In past decades, there's been a deep cultural rift in understanding between those who serve in the military and civilian Americans. Yet unexpectedly now, we are facing a situation that could bring us all together if we do this right.
