As the winter fast approaches, the crew is switching from native planting to invasive species removal. In Green Bay, our primary shrubby invasive species are buckthorn and honeysuckle. The crew cuts out the invasive shrub and applies herbicide directly to the stump to kill the root system. Stay tuned to see some amazing before and after pictures throughout the winter.

A new mountain bike skills course was recently installed at Triangle Sports Area. To reduce the erosion on the steep slopes, the Conservation Corps planted countless native sedges, grasses, shrubs, and perennials. A huge thank you to Creek Preservation Foundation and Stone Silo Prairie Gardens for supplying the native plants and adding this amazing amenity to the park system!
