Today, we had the pleasure of visiting St. James Catholic Elementary School to teach students about fire safety and prevention!

Our firefighters were joined by our friends from the Seabee Base, who brought their smoke simulation trailer to give students a hands-on learning experience. The students learned important fire safety lessons, including how to stay safe and what to do in the event of a fire.

These visits are a great opportunity to build relationships with our youngest community members while teaching lifesaving skills that can make a difference.

A big thank you to St. James Catholic Elementary School for welcoming us and to the Seabee base fire department for partnering with us to make this a fun and educational experience for the kids! We hope we inspired a few future firefighters along the way!

My 8-year-old son asked me if he could show some love and appreciation to the firefighters who helped save his cousin, Jeremiah Thompson. ❤️🥹 That touched my heart so much.

I just want to take a moment to thank the firefighters who helped save my nephew’s life after his terrible car accident. They used the Jaws of Life to cut him out of the car, and I will forever be grateful for their quick response, courage, dedication, and everything they did to save his life. 🙏🏽❤️🚒

For my son to want to show them love for saving his cousin means so much to me, and seeing the firefighters show that same love back to him and our family is something we will never forget. ❤️

Thank you for putting your lives on the line every day to help and save others. Our family is forever grateful for what you did for Jeremiah. May God continue to bless and protect each and every one of you. 🙏🏽❤️🚒🧑🏽‍🚒

Who knew chair volleyball could get this competitive? Our firefighters had a blast playing with our amazing senior citizens! After plenty of laughs, great teamwork, and some serious competition, the Fire Department barely pulled off the win. We’re calling it a victory!

Community partnerships make a real difference.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the Gulfport School District to give students hands-on experience with fire safety and emergency preparedness. Building strong relationships between our schools, first responders, and the community helps create a safer, better-prepared Gulfport.

Proud of our Gulfport Fire Department team for investing in the next generation!
