Community partnerships make a real difference.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the Gulfport School District to give students hands-on experience with fire safety and emergency preparedness. Building strong relationships between our schools, first responders, and the community helps create a safer, better-prepared Gulfport.

Proud of our Gulfport Fire Department team for investing in the next generation!

⚠️ WOODS FIRE – USE CAUTION

Gulfport firefighters are currently working a woods fire in the area between Stewart Road and Sharp Boulevard.

Smoke may be present throughout the surrounding area. Residents with respiratory conditions are encouraged to remain indoors and limit exposure to the smoke.

Motorists should use caution when traveling through the area, as smoke may reduce visibility.

Please avoid the immediate area while crews continue operations.

🌟 Employee Spotlight 🌟

This month, we're proud to recognize Paige Hamby, a Firefighter with the Gulfport Fire Department! 🚒

For the past year and a half, Paige has proudly served our community by helping people on what can often be one of the hardest days of their lives. She says the best part of the job is working alongside her crew, growing together, and tackling each challenge as a team.

Before becoming a firefighter, Paige served in the United States Navy. It was during her firefighting training in boot camp that she discovered her passion for the profession. After doing more research while serving in the Navy, she knew firefighting was the career she wanted to pursue.

Paige is especially proud of the hard work it took to get where she is today. She says being a firefighter requires strength, compassion, intelligence, and problem-solving skills and she's excited to continue learning and growing throughout her career.

Outside of work, Paige enjoys hiking, exploring national parks, and trail running. Originally from the Midwest, she loves that living in Gulfport means the beach is just a 10-minute drive away instead of 12 hours!

✨ Fun fact: While stationed in Sicily, Paige had the opportunity to travel all over Europe.

We're grateful for Paige's dedication, courage, and commitment to serving the citizens of Gulfport every day.
