Today’s the Day! Today is Kentucky Gives Day! From our very beginning, the Perry County Community Foundation has helped fund projects for local schools, flood recovery efforts, community projects, various nonprofit organizations, and so much more in Perry County. With your help, we can continue this work and build a brighter future for generations to come. Every donation—big or small—makes a difference right here in Perry County. Friday was a very special moment for our community and especially those at Gurney’s Bend in the Allais section of Hazard. This beautiful new space was created for families, neighbors, and future generations to gather, connect, and enjoy for years to come.

Perry County Community Foundation is honored, proud and thankful to have partnered with the City of Hazard for such an amazing vision.

Today we celebrate Earth Day—a reminder that even small actions can make a big difference right here in Perry County

From keeping our rivers and roads clean to protecting the natural beauty that surrounds us, we all have a role to play in caring for the place we call home. Together, we can preserve our environment for future generations and continue building a healthier, stronger community.

Looking for a way to help? Pick up litter, plant something green, or support local efforts that protect our land and water.

Every step counts. Every action matters.

April is National Volunteer Month, and we’re celebrating the incredible people who give their time, energy, and heart to make Perry County stronger. Volunteers are the backbone of our community—showing up when it matters most, lending a hand, and creating positive change every single day. Whether you’re helping a neighbor, supporting local programs, or giving your time through the Foundation, your impact does not go unnoticed.
Join us this month in saying THANK YOU to all our volunteers—and if you’ve been thinking about getting involved, there’s no better time to start!
Together, we can continue building a brighter future for Perry County.

Poetry has the power to bring people together, tell our stories, and capture the heart of a community in just a few words. Today, on World Poetry Day, we celebrate the voices, creativity, and expressions that help us better understand one another.

Our communities are filled with stories of resilience, generosity, and hope—and sometimes the most meaningful moments are the ones that can’t be captured in numbers, but in words.

Today, we encourage you to read a poem, write a few lines, or share a favorite verse that inspires you. Let’s celebrate the beauty of language and the stories that connect us all.

Today marks the first day of spring, a season that reminds us that growth, renewal, and fresh beginnings are always possible. Just like the flowers and trees starting to bloom, our communities continue to grow stronger through kindness, generosity, and connection.

At the Perry County Community Foundation, we’re inspired by the energy of this new season and the incredible people who make our work possible—our donors, partners, volunteers, and neighbors. Together, we’re planting seeds that will create lasting impact for generations to come.

Here’s to brighter days, new opportunities, and a season full of hope and growth!

Today we’re celebrating a little extra luck, a lot of community spirit, and the joy of coming together. St. Patrick’s Day reminds us how fortunate we are to be part of a community filled with generous hearts, helping hands, and neighbors who care.

At the Perry County Community Foundation, we feel incredibly lucky to work alongside donors, volunteers, and partners who make a meaningful difference every day. Because of you, we’re able to support programs and opportunities that help our communities grow stronger.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy St. Patrick’s Day filled with laughter, friendship, and maybe a little bit of luck! 💚🍀
