Today marks 80 years since the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp on January 27, 1945. In remembrance, Commissioner Ramsey joined Rozalie Jerome, Founder and President of the Holocaust Remembrance Association, for a tour of the Holocaust Garden of Hope in Kingwood, Texas. Claudia Kiesinger, National Coordinator for March of Remembrance, was also part of this powerful moment of reflection.

We honor the lives lost and the resilience of survivors.

📣 1/22/25 Update

Parks will be open tomorrow, Thursday, January 23, with limited water amenities.

Community Centers will be open tomorrow with normal operating hours and programming, with the exception of Cactus Jack Cagle Community Center and May Community Center, which are anticipated to open on Friday. Thank you for your understanding!

📣 Even though the snow is melting, road conditions remain icy, and temperatures will drop again tonight. Please avoid travel if possible and stay safe!

❄️ Remember to practice the 4Ps:

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 People: Check on family, neighbors, and senior individuals. Keep warm and stay inside!

🐶 Pets: Bring pets inside. If you have livestock, make sure there is adequate warmth for them.

🚰 Pipes: Cover exposed pipes and drip faucets to prevent freezing or broken pipes.

🌿 Plants: Cover outdoor plants and bring inside potted plants. You can also water and mulch outdoor plants to retain heat.

The following community centers will be open tomorrow, Wednesday, January 22, from 10 AM to 8 PM with regular programming. Stop in to participate in our activities or to enjoy the free Wi-Fi and heat!

- Barrett Station & Riley Chambers Community Center
- Crosby Community Center
- George H.W. Bush Community Center
- Juergen's Hall Community Center
- San Jacinto Community Center
- Trini Mendenhall Community Center

Cactus Jack Cagle Community Center and May Community Center are anticipated to be open on Thursday, January 23.
