This is Vinanti Mistry. This email is regarding few questions about wildflowers and native plants conservation in the area. As the bees and butterflies are increasingly in danger of losing habitat because of the development. We have beautiful parks , trails and even roadside where wildflowers are growing voluntarily. I was wondering what are the more options for conserving the habitat for our pollinators ? It's very important to save the habitat since they are directly related to growing our food. In my opinion now is the time for everyone to step up ... Regardless of whether you live in countryside or not. Wether you are farmer or not.
Conservation programs are being held through communities nationwide. Here are some information.
https://whnt.com/news/groups-gather-in-madison-to-plant-habitats-for-monarch-butterflies/
https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/wps/portal/nrcs/detail/national/plantsanimals/pollinate/?cid=stelprdb1263263
https://www.planetbee.org/
Here are some of the topics I would like to discuss through this email :
1) Is it aloud to spread wildflowers seeds in Harris County parks, trails and roadside ?
2) Does Harris County has a program for bee conservation ?
3) Does Harris County has a program for local Scouts organization to do a service project connected to Bee and Butterfly Conservation ?
4) Does Harris County support financially to community if they have a plan for Bee and Butterfly Conservation ?
Looking forward to work towards a better healthier future for all.
Thank you
Vinanti Mistry
