The Atascocita Fire Fighters Association Local 5316 thanks our community’s residents, businesses, and first responders for the outstanding success of the 2021 RedLine Classic Car, Hot Rod & Motorcycle Show!

Nearly 50 registered vehicles turned out to compete for Best in Class, People’s Choice, and Best in Show categories. Congratulations to the winners!

Proceeds from the event are still rolling in, so we’ll share the official tally in the coming weeks. We are quite pleased to say that the community was very generous to Paws for Heroes!

Today and always, we are grateful for our nations’s past and present military service members, and we will never forget those among them who made the ultimate sacrifice so we can build community and take delight in cool cars, good company, and tasty food! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

We have all seen what COVID-19 can do and the effects if can have. Recently we had it hit home with the local 5316. As a union we came together to support one of our own. When one person get this virus its the family with them that fights as well. He has recently reached out to thank the union for its support after battling and winning against the virus!

" I want to express my appreciation to the union and union members for their fast actions and overwhelming response to help my family. To the community: COVID is real! We don't know how our bodies will respond to the virus. Mask up, social distance and get vaccinated as soon as you can!"

We continue to wish a fast and healthy recovery for him and his family!

Fire Fighter Cancer Awareness Month - IAFF

The first week of the Fire Fighter Cancer Awareness Month addresses why cancer is the number-one line-of-duty death in the fire service.

https://www.iaff.org/cancer-awareness-month/#week-1-scope

With an understanding of cancer in the fire service, use this week to explore scientific research that identifies the link between occupational exposures and cancer rates among fire fighters. Additionally, this week looks at research on screening for cancer and exposure routes.
