Affordability continues to be top of mind for Hoosiers, with many families struggling to get by as the cost of everyday necessities like gas and groceries rise. Senate Republicans have a strong track record of cutting taxes – reducing our state's income tax rate to one of the lowest in the nation, exempting military income for Hoosiers who are part of the Armed Forces, and removing taxes on tips and overtime pay for 2026. These cuts coupled with the suspended gas taxes and expanded use of dyed diesel for Hoosier farmers is saving Hoosiers money, and Senate Republicans will continue working to ensure you keep more of your hard-earned money.

Hoosier Farmers put food on our tables and help our state grow, which is why Senate Republicans will always fight to ensure Hoosier farmers are supported. Check out our latest blog to learn more about how the recent suspension of the tax on dyed diesel will help ease the burden on farmers this harvest season.

Across the country, fuel prices are some of the highest they have been in recent history. While Indiana has suspended both gas taxes to have the lowest gas prices in the country, our farmers are still struggling due to the skyrocketing cost of diesel.

Teachers work hard in their communities to educate Hoosier students, and they deserve a steady income for their efforts. Since 2021, Senate Republicans have prioritized paying off the money owed to the Pre-1996 Teachers' Retirement Fund. Thanks to aggressive contributions and the caucus's commitment to fiscal responsibility, Indiana will be able to pay the Fund's remaining liability in 2028, nearly a decade ahead of schedule.
