Governor Mike Braun joined INDOT and I-69 Ohio River Crossing team members this morning to celebrate completion of the Indiana approach section of the project near Evansville. While these roads and bridges will not immediately open to traffic, they will provide all-weather access for the next phase of construction: the bi-state river crossing! Work is anticipated to begin in spring of 2027. 👏🏼

September 26th is Seat Check Saturday, a reminder that one of the most important safety-checks you can make is ensuring your child's car seat is installed and used correctly.

The INDOT Hoosier Helpers, sponsored by GEICO, care about the safety of every traveler on our roadways, especially our youngest passengers. Car seats save lives, reducing the risk of fatal injury by 71% for infants and 54% for toddlers in passenger cars. Yet studies show that nearly half of all car seats are installed incorrectly.

Take a few minutes today to check your car seat’s installation. Parents and caregivers set the example. When adults buckle up, children are more likely to do the same.
