Our Master Gardener Volunteers moved this huge Agave americana, also called Century Plant, to a more prominent location in the Discovery Gardens. An interesting fact about these plants is that they can take 10-25+ years to bloom, and after they do the main plant dies. Vegetative offsets are produced at the base of the plant, making them easy to propagate. Come see this interesting specimen near the ornamental pond!
