A prolonged period of heavy rain is just beginning across central Iowa. The heaviest rainfall will likely fall later tonight & on Wednesday night.

🚨 Flood Watch has been issued for western and central Iowa through late Thursday. Excessive Rain Outlook have been upgraded to Moderate (Level 3 out of 4).

🌧️ Rainfall Totals: Widespread 2 to 4 inches likely with locally higher amounts of up to 6 inches possible.

⚠️ Primary Hazards: Significant ponding on area roads. Area rivers/streams are already running high, so additional heavy rains may lead to flooding.

🚗 Safety: Should you encounter flooding, turn around, don't drown!
