Last week, students in the MCTC’s Physical Surveillance for Counternarcotic Missions course put classroom instruction into action through realistic street-based surveillance scenarios simulating drug trafficking activity. Using role players, covert communication and their own low-profile vehicles, students conducted foot, vehicle and static surveillance operations across urban environments while identifying and documenting simulated criminal activity in real time.

With 80 percent of the course focused on hands-on training, students sharpened their ability to track movements, maintain cover and coordinate as surveillance teams in dynamic environments designed to mirror real-world investigations.

Tracking movements, relaying updates and maintaining surveillance on foot and in vehicles is part of the practical exercise of the MCTC’s Physical Surveillance for Counternarcotic Missions course.
