What a PAWsome night at the Calcasieu Parish 4-H Pet Show!🐶

Thank you to all of the 4-H members and families who came out and shared their amazing pets with us. From dogs and cats to rabbits, reptiles, birds, and more, we loved seeing the special bond between our members and their animals.

A special thank you to Bayou South Animal Hospital for donating their time to serve as our judges and helping make this event a success. We appreciate their support of youth and 4-H programs in our community.

We would also like to recognize our Calcasieu Parish 4-H Junior Leaders who volunteered throughout the evening. From check-in and registration to assisting with awards and helping keep everything running smoothly, their leadership and service made a big difference!

And to our parents and caregivers, thank you for your support, encouragement, and for helping your children prepare for and participate in events like this. Your involvement helps create meaningful experiences and lasting memories for our 4-H members.

Congratulations to all of our participants, and thank you for making this year's Pet Show such a fun and memorable event!🐶🥇

❤️💚 4-H Builds Leaders for Life! 💚❤️

Our state-winning Calcasieu Parish 4-H Livestock Judging Team had the opportunity to present at the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury meeting and share how 4-H has impacted their lives. From developing public speaking and leadership skills to building confidence, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of agriculture, these young people are living examples of the lifelong benefits of 4-H.

Our team also expressed their sincere appreciation to the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury for their continued support of our 4-H program. Their investment helps create opportunities for youth to learn, grow, and achieve success both inside and outside the show ring.

We are proud of these outstanding young leaders and grateful for community partners who believe in the power of 4-H to shape the next generation! 💚🐄🏆

Making the best better in Calcasieu Parish, one 4-H member at a time!

Get Ready for the Calcasieu Parish 4-H Pet Show!🐾

The countdown is on, and we can't wait to welcome all of our furry, feathered, finned, and scaly friends to the Burton Coliseum tomorrow!

Participants should enter through the glass doors on the north side of the Burton Coliseum. Those who have already registered in 4-H Online will check in, receive their exhibitor number, and be directed to their species-designated area on the coliseum floor. Participants who have not yet registered in 4-H Online may complete registration at the door using their personal device or one of the iPads we will have available.

***Please note that all pets must remain on the coliseum floor throughout the event. Pets are not permitted in the stands.***

We're also excited to announce a variety of fun awards for each species. Awards include categories such as Best Tail Wagger, Wettest Nose, Brightest Eyes, Longest Whiskers, Most Colorful, Best of Show, and many more.

Since the Pet Show takes place so close to Halloween, participants are encouraged to come dressed in costume with their pets. A special Best Dressed Award will be presented to the youth and pet pair with the most creative and festive costume combination.

Whether you're bringing a dog, cat, rabbit, bird, fish, or reptile, we look forward to seeing you and your pet at the show. Get those costumes ready and start preparing for a fun and memorable event!

If you have not done so, please register in 4-H Online, link in the comments.
