All adoptions are done by appointment after an application has been submitted. Assisting the animals of Lapeer County by sheltering, facilitating adoptions, providing education, promoting spay/neuter and community outreach.

HERSHEY🤎

STILL AVAILABLE FOR FOSTER OR FOSTER TO ADOPT

Can you get any more handsome than this guy? Nope. Hershey is such a great dog. He is calm, quiet, likes other dogs, is a little shy with people at first, but will warm up once he trusts you. He loves to run with the other dogs, but then chill out laying in the grass just observing the world.

Unfortunately, Hershey has tested positive for heartworm when he came into Animal Control. He will be starting the difficult treatment soon, but can be fostered while receiving the treatment. It would be wonderful if he could go into a foster home that is less stressful than the shelter while he is receiving treatment, and have someone monitor his activity restriction. Please consider fostering this great boy!💔

KURT❤️

STILL AVAILABLE FOR FOSTER OR FOSTER TO ADOPT

Sweet boy Kurt, loves to be outside searching and sniffing those interesting smells. He likes other dogs, likes people and is great on leash. Unfortunately, Kurt tested positive for heartworm, has since completed the difficult treatment and will be getting neutered in 5 weeks. He will need a follow-up test in 6 months, but can be fostered in the meantime and once cleared medically, can be officially adopted. It would be wonderful if he could spend time in a foster home that is less stressful than the shelter. Please consider fostering this great boy. 💔

RODNEY❤️

One of the sweetest boys out there. Rodney is so happy, loving, wants to snuggle close to you for cuddles and is such a nice boy. All he wants to do is his favorite thing, sniff. Unfortunately, he tested positive for heartworm when he came into Animal Control. Rodney has completed the difficult treatment for heartworm and will be getting neutered in 5 weeks. He can be fostered while waiting for neuter surgery and his 6 month follow-up test, then he can be officially adopted. It would be so wonderful if he could spend time in a foster home that is less stressful than the shelter. Please consider fostering this great boy. You will love him if you meet him.💔

Baby Girl is a very sweet, loving and adorable girl that came in with Violet from a neglect situation, but doesn't have to be adopted with Violet. She is wonderful with people and dogs, loves walks and being outside. She still needs to put on a few pounds, but she is ready for the princess treatment and heavy duty spoiling. Super sweet and happy girl, Violet loves people and is great with other dogs. She came in with Baby Girl from a neglect situation, but can be adopted out separately. Violet needs to put on a little bit more weight and deserves some heavy duty spoiling and princess treatment. She is very loving and friendly and has a great personality. Just look at that face!

CAESAR🩵

Big beautiful boy with the striking blue eyes. Caesar is very active, loves to be outside running with his buddies. He does great with Scotty, a young, high energy dog (see video). He pulls strong on leash at times, loves to sniff and explore. Caesar is working on some basic obedience. He is very focused and treat motivated. He knows or is working on:
