Reflecting on yesterday’s press conference, I think about our community and how we both hold on to our shared history while continuing to look towards the future. Senator Turner’s advocacy to secure state funding for needed renovations allows Lawrence Township to grow the center’s focus from the surrounding neighborhood to the entire community. Township Council heard loud and clear that residents want to see a center that provides community-focused programming and services as well as allowing the Recreation Department and other local non-profit organizations to use the building. I look forward to the day when we cut the ribbon to reopen the Community Center, honor the memory of Lance Corporal Douglas R. Dickerson Jr., and provide a “third place” where residents can gather in community.

Thank you to the Lawrence Township NJ Police Department for another successful event. Seeing so many friends, neighbors, and township residents spend an evening on the municipal building lawn, filled my heart with joy. It was also wonderful to hear from an EMT about how our new ambulances are improving township services. National Night Out in Lawrence epitomizes what community is all about.

📣 Big news! Lawrence Township has secured a $2 million State grant — championed by Senator Shirley K. Turner — for improvements to the Neighborhood Center at 295 Eggerts Crossing Road.

Combined with Congressman Herb Conaway's $500,000 federal grant, that's $2.5 million in outside funding to restore this community hub while easing the burden on taxpayers.

"Trenton Water Works (TWW) has issued a Precautionary Boil Water Advisory for portions of Ewing Township and Lawrence Township following a 16-inch water main break on Olden Avenue between Arctic Parkway and Princeton Avenue in Ewing Township." The impacted neighborhoods in Lawrence include Eldridge Park, Eggerts Crossing, and a portion of Harney’s Corner as well as the Tiffany Woods and Project Freedom developments. Sharing this post as a reminder of the Township Code (§ 89-3) that prohibits dogs from being off-leash in public. For the second time this week, I've personally had to deal with an off-leash dog aggressively come up to my dog while walking through Colonial Lake Park. Thankfully nothing bad has happened but today's interaction with a husky gave me pause.

🚨 ATTENTION LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP DOG OWNERS 🚨

REMINDER: Township Ordinance 89-3 requires ALL dogs to be on a leash (maximum 6 feet) in ALL public spaces unless in designated dog runs.
This means:
No off-leash dogs in regular township parks
Leashes required on all public property
No exceptions for "well-trained" dogs
The leash requirement protects everyone - other residents, children, pets, and your own dog.
Let's keep Lawrence Township safe and enjoyable for everyone! 🐕‍🦺♥️
