Wildfire season is here. Is your child care program ready? With the heat continuing we could see more evacuations because of fires. Here is a few simple steps that can make a big difference if a wildfire happens near your program.
✅ Review and practice your evacuation plan.
✅ Keep emergency contact information up to date. Include these contacts in your evacuation kit.
✅ Pack a grab-and-go emergency kit with first aid supplies, medications, water, and important records. Have parents bring a small bag of supplies for their child to keep at the program.
✅ Sign up for local emergency alerts. Including putting info about your program on your profile. We can help you sign up for your local alerts. Here is Logan City's https://champ.ly/gGPHUZvw
✅ Have a plan for communicating with families if you need to evacuate or close.
✅ Know where you would relocate if your program had to leave quickly. This location change so being connected to your emergency alerts system will help.
