ALMA P. SORENSEN

Born: January 5, 1905

Alma P. Sorensen was sworn in as a deputy to Sheriff Wesley G. Malmberg in 1947 and served honorably for the next twelve years, eventually being appointed chief deputy sheriff.
On August 27, 1959, he and Logan City patrolman Edwin Edwards were transporting three juvenile offenders to the State Reform School in Ogden. Seven miles north of Ogden, a scuffle occurred in the car, causing it to go out of control and strike an oncoming car. The crash killed Chief Deputy Sorensen, Officer Edwards, and Steven William Nelson, a 13-year-old juvenile being transported.
Contemporaries remember Alma as a friend to everyone, easy-going, and as having a keen sense of humor. He was 54 at the time of his death and was survived by his wife, Ada, three sons, and one daughter.

End of Watch: August 27, 1959

LAW ENFORCEMENT IS SEEKING THE PUBLIC’S HELP TO LOCATE A WANTED SUSPECT, CONSIDERED ARMED

LOGAN, UT — The Cache County Sheriff’s Office and Logan City Police Department are actively seeking the public’s assistance in locating Benigno Queredo-Centreros, a 41-year-old male wanted on domestic violence-related charges.

Name: Benigno Queredo-Centreros
Date of Birth: February 13, 1985
Description: Hispanic male, 5'8", 160 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a distinct mohawk hairstyle and mustache.
Last Known Address: 443 N 630 W, Logan, UT 84321

Incident Details
Earlier this morning, between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM, officers responded to a domestic dispute within Logan City limits. The suspect, identified as Queredo-Centreros, fled the scene before police arrived.

Later in the morning, Cache County Sheriff’s Deputies and a Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) Trooper spotted the suspect traveling at a high rate of speed near 4200 West in Cache County.

The suspect's vehicle was subsequently found abandoned in a field. A deputy and trooper witnessed the suspect stand up in the field, appearing to be armed with a long rifle. It has since been confirmed that a 20-gauge shotgun is missing from his residence, and he is believed to be armed with this weapon.

Active Search & Public Safety Warning
Due to the presence of a firearm, threats of harm to others, and existing probable cause for domestic violence charges, a large-scale search was initiated. Law enforcement deployed multiple tactical assets, including:

-A Utah Highway Patrol helicopter
-Drones
-An armored vehicle

Despite an extensive search of the area, the suspect was not located. He was last seen not wearing a shirt.

⚠️ CAUTION: Benigno Queredo-Centreros should be considered armed. Members of the public are strictly advised NOT to approach the suspect if spotted.
