Did you know River Heights was originally nicknamed “Dry Town”? 🏜️
Before it became the beautiful, shady residential community we know today, this bench land in Cache Valley was just a barren cattle pasture completely cut off from Logan and Providence.
This quick history dive tracks how the community found its identity:
📍 1906: A town survey officially separates the bench from Logan City.
🏡 1910 & 1911: The first block, lot, and Summerwild subdivision surveys are drawn.
💧 1934: Faced with a severe drought, residents officially incorporate on October 31st to secure federal funding for a deep water well—and J. Karl Wood is named the very first mayor!
