We had a great training tonight, teaming up with our Mutual Aid partners Michiana Shores VFD. We reviewed pre-plans and went over each other’s first engine to help ensure we can assist each other even more on fire scenes! 🚒🔥

Our thoughts and prayers are with Deputy Jon Samuelson, his family, friends, K9 partner, and the entire La Porte County Sheriff's Office.

Today's events are a painful reminder of the risks law enforcement officers face, even in moments when they are simply trying to help someone. During tragedies like this, the strength of our public safety community becomes clear. Agencies from across the area have come together to support Deputy Samuelson, his family, and one another.

We are grateful for the officers, deputies, dispatchers, medical staff, first responders, and partner agencies who responded and continue to stand united during this difficult time.

Long Beach stands with Deputy Samuelson, his family, and the La Porte County Sheriff's Office.
