Follow-up neighborhood meeting for a proposed Conditional Use Permit (“CUP”) to allow athletic fields on property located at 2612 S. English Station Road

Dear Neighbor: We are writing to invite you to a follow-up neighborhood meeting to the one held on May 18, 2026, to again present our CUP plan for athletic fields on the above referenced property.

As you know, the applicant, The Base, LLC d/b/a Base Performance, is proposing to repurpose the existing barn for 2 indoor turf fields, a weight room and office. The site will also have outdoor turf athletic fields. We also were preserving significant tree canopy and related protected areas, but we are adding property to the CUP application for this purpose. This change should not appreciably change any material part of the improvements to the project, but it will simply formally add property used for tree canopy and other related purposes to our CUP application, rather than restricting the property as adjacent to the CUP. The property will consist of approximately 23.7 acres, which includes the CUP for the indoor and outdoor athletic fields. The existing curb-cut will be closed, and a new entrance to the site will line up across from Echo Trail, and there will be 159 parking spaces provided. The plan shown at the previous neighborhood meeting described 23.71 total acres with 12.38 acres being the CUP area. The applicant is now including the entire site in the CUP area. A CUP application and plan were filed for review with the Office of Planning that was assigned case number 26-CUP0084 and case manager Jude Mattingly.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Eastwood located at 16122 Eastwood Cut Off Road, Louisville, Kentucky. (Park in the upper parking lot via the frontage road that runs in front of the church. Access the frontage road from either Eastwood Fisherville Road or Eastwood Cut Off Road. Enter the Multipurpose Building located in the rear of the parking lot through the door located on the left side of the building. Go down the stairs to the meeting room. Wheelchair access is available through the back door).

Enclosed for your review are the following:
1. The development plan;
2. LOJIC site location zoning map sheet showing the location of the site;

The Louisville Zoo are excited to welcome female maned wolf Ayla

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (September 29, 2026) – Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg and the Louisville Zoo are excited to welcome a nearly two-year-old female maned wolf to Louisville.

Ayla (pronounced EYE la) comes to Louisville from the Smithsonian National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute and will celebrate her second birthday on Dec. 28. Her name is Turkish for “halo of light around the moon.”

"We are so excited to welcome our newest resident to the Louisville Zoo,” said Mayor Greenberg. “We look forward to seeing her thrive and provide our community the opportunity to learn more about this incredible species.”

“Every new animal arrival strengthens the Zoo’s role as a leader in conservation, education and inspiring connections with wildlife from around the world,” said Dan Maloney, Louisville Zoo Director. “We are thrilled to welcome Ayla. She will help guests learn about the challenges facing wildlife and the importance of protecting habitats for future generations.”

Her move to Louisville is part of a breeding recommendation through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ Maned Wolf Species Survival Plan, which helps maintain genetically healthy populations of animals in accredited zoos. Over the coming months, she and the Zoo’s male maned wolf, Chrys, will gradually be introduced and given time to get to know one another.

Maned wolves are typically solitary in the wild, but Zoo guests can look for Ayla and Chrys in the maned wolf habitat, where they will be featured on a rotating schedule.

About Maned Wolf

The maned wolf is native to South America and can be found throughout Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Uruguay. Though generally solitary, they form semi-monogamous pairs during the breeding season. Maned wolves are omnivores with half of their diet consisting of fruit, supplemented by small mammals, birds, reptiles, insects, nuts, eggs, and grass. The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species lists the maned wolf as near threatened.

Zoo Hours

The Zoo is open daily year-round. Now through March 19, 2027, hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with guests exiting by 5 p.m. The Zoo is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. Visit louisvillezoo.org for more information on hours and admission.

Low-cost Home Repair Loans Available for Louisville Homeowners
LHOME's Home Repair Access Loan helps low- and moderate-income owner-occupants pay for essential repairs like roofs, gutters, and HVAC systems. Loans go up to $24,999 at a fixed 4% rate with terms up to seven years. There are no application, credit check, or origination fees, and radon testing is included at no cost. Payments on a $10,000 loan run about $137 a month over seven years.
The program is funded by a Community Development Block Grant award from Louisville Metro, the city's first CDBG-funded home repair revolving loan pool. Funding is available now. Homeowners with traditional credit challenges are encouraged to apply.
Council offices can help by sharing this information through newsletters, social media, and neighborhood association meetings. LHOME is also glad to present at community meetings, provide flyers in bulk, or connect with churches, senior centers, and service providers who hear from homeowners with repair needs.

Notice of Neighborhood Meeting (12302, 12312, 12400, 12406 & 12412 Taylorsville Road, 3830 Sweeney Lane and Parcel ID 00460086000)

Neighborhood meeting for the proposed zone change from R-4 to C-1 to allow a retail center with a grocery store on property located at 12302, 12312, 12400, 12406 & 12412 Taylorsville Road, 3830 Sweeney Lane and Parcel ID 00460086000.
The prior case by this applicant for the same property was recommended for approval by the Planning Commission in Docket No. 25-ZONE0099, with the favorable recommendation overturned by Metro Council thereby denying the rezoning.

Dear Neighbor:

We are writing to invite you to a new neighborhood meeting to again present neighbors with our zone change plan to allow a retail center to be located as above. The plan has not changed since the prior Planning Commission hearing on February 18, 2026, with the exception of substantially more roadway improvements being required by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and being proposed by the applicant. We recently filed an application with the Planning Commission to waive the 2-year rule to allow the application to be refiled to consider the case with the new road improvements, which was approved at the September 17, 2026 Planning Commission hearing.

The development plan will be filed for pre-application review with The Office of Planning that will be assigned a new case number, however the case manager will still be Mark Pinto.
In that regard, a meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Jeffersonian in the Jefferson Room located at 10617 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, KY 40299.

Enclosed for your review are the following:
