We had a great send-off to the pool’s first season, hosting a back to school bash Friday night for Camp Taylor Elementary students and their families. Thanks to Principal Shanton and his team and the Parks and Recs aquatics crew who helped pull it off. We hear the community who wants more pool days, longer hours, and more pool parties next year - we do too!

Shoutout to the Southeast Family YMCA for being an incredible asset to the community - great energy at summer camp, swim lessons for all ages, and thoughtful multicultural programming. You may not have realized that the playground, fitness equipment, soccer fields, and Gaga pit around back are all open to the public and free. Thanks for the tour Halleigh!

This afternoon I joined my colleagues of Metro Council to host a Roundtable with delegates from Vietnam’s National Assembly where we discussed the legislative process, committee operation, and how constituent services inform policy priorities between our offices.

I'll be there to learn all the good work happening around Beargrass Creek and how we can do more of it a couple miles further, in District 10.

I got tired of looking at this slab across from Planet Fitness on Taylor and Illinois on the way to the Mega Cavern. I called the owner, a nice guy in Tennessee, to ask if he had any plans for it. He told me he actually just listed it for sale! So come on, who's got $750,000 and is ready to refresh this corner of our community?
