The Louisville Metro Department of Transportation and Louisville Metro Public Works have secured close to $1 million in a grant from KYTC to repair the bridge over Beargrass Creek on Goldsmith Lane at Peabody. Not glitz and glam but a vital improvement to keep drivers safe.

I know we haven't started fall yet, but Lights Under Louisville will be here before you know it.

My office has stayed in close communication with the Mega Cavern team, pushing for improvements. I convened a meeting in May where I brought in a thick folder of printed out neighbor complaints from 2025, along with the entire 6th Division leadership team that approves traffic plans.

I urged the Mega Cavern to adopt ideas neighbors have proposed, including capping tickets, shuttling attendees, and giving neighbors a lump sum payment. I did not and will not get everything I ask for, but we are making progress. The police also shared with the Mega Cavern owner and staff that they received more calls to the area in late 2025 than they did in 2024.

I believe we are all committed to working in good faith to make meaningful changes to the traffic and communication process this year. We continue to elevate neighbor voice and work to secure opportunities for neighbors to provide feedback. This year there will be more traffic officers, car flags for neighbors, and a hotline that goes directly to the off-duty traffic contractor.

The numbers are in. The first season of the Camp Taylor water park was a huge success. More than 16,000 people visited our pool! Across the city's four public pools, attendance was just under 45,000, a jump from 2025.

Investing in pools and community infrastructure is an investment in public safety, in community, in families.

You should be seeing fewer "We Buy Diabetic Test Strips" signs. Metro Council recently passed an ordinance banning signs in the right of way and on poles. On a recent day, the city's Solid Waste Management Team fanned out and collected 307 signs.
