Tonight, a large woods fire in our county brought first responders, volunteers, local agencies, churches, businesses, and neighbors together to support those affected.
Rugged Cross Cowboy Church quickly opened its doors as a shelter for those who needed a safe place to go. Their willingness to step up and serve our neighbors made a meaningful difference.
Our local businesses also showed incredible generosity. Flying Burger provided more than 65 meals for the first responders working the fire. Holy Grounds reached out to offer drinks and support. Community members donated water, Gatorade, and other supplies, while neighbors continued asking what was needed and how they could help.
To every firefighter, law enforcement officer, EMS provider, emergency management worker, Forestry team member, volunteer, church member, business owner, employee, and neighbor who helped tonight: thank you.
Different roles. One team. One community.
This is what small-town living is all about. When our community needed help, Columbia County showed up. ❤️
