LLAB 13 – FTX at Fort Riley

For week 13, cadets traveled to Fort Riley for a 14-hour Field Training Exercise (FTX), putting this semester’s training into practice alongside soldiers from the 1-16th Infantry Division. Cadets worked through a full day of field scenarios, applying skills like TCCC and CQB while being challenged to think critically, communicate clearly, and adapt under pressure. Our 200s were also given opportunities to step into leadership roles and lead their teams throughout the day.

This exercise brought the semester’s training together, giving cadets the chance to apply months of preparation in a realistic field environment. A special thank you to our FTX team for the time and effort put into planning and executing this training, and to the soldiers of the 1-16th Infantry Division for their continued support and mentorship throughout the semester. 💪🇺🇸

🟣 WILDCAT WEDNESDAY 🟣

Cadet Sanchez is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with minors in Biology and Geography.

He has been selected to commission into the United States Air Force as an Intelligence Officer and will attend training at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas.

He joined AFROTC because he believes we are all called to serve others, and saw it as an opportunity to actively love and serve the people around him while being part of something bigger than himself.

His favorite memory from his time in the program was the Wright-Patterson base visit during his freshman year. He had the chance to see a wide variety of aircraft, experience some incredible opportunities, and spend time exploring Dayton, Ohio.

A quote that inspired him throughout college was,
“We cannot all do great things, but we can do small things with great love.” — St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Congratulations, Cadet Sanchez! Looking forward to the impact you’ll make in this next chapter. 🇺🇸🙌

LLAB 12 – Tactical Training with 1-16th Infantry

For week 12, soldiers from the 1-16th Infantry Division at Fort Riley returned to train with Detachment 270, helping cadets continue developing fireteam skills. Cadets spent the day outside working through basic radio communication, detainment and apprehension, and fireteam formations.
