nt that features 32 full time FF/EMT and FF/Paramedics. Conducting about 3500-4100 runs a year they provide fire suppression, emergency medical transports and mitigation of emergency situations in the Town of Mashpee and surrounding communities.

🚒 Thanks Dr. Kannler and Massachusetts Department of Fire Services for today’s early detection and cancer screening event!

Dr. Kannler, a respected dermatologist, has dedicated her efforts to screen firefighters for skin cancer, motivated by her personal experience after losing her brother, a Chelsea firefighter, to melanoma. Firefighters face a 40% higher risk of developing skin cancer compared to other professions, with a mortality rate nearing 80%.

Thanks to the commitment of Dr. Kannler and the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services, 17 of our members and neighboring firefighters received crucial screenings today.

Last night at the June Select Board meeting, we proudly recognized Jack Burowsky, a recent graduate from the Class of 2026. Joined by State Senator Dylan Fernandes, House Representative David T. Vieira, and our Select Board, we presented Jack with several well-deserved honors for his remarkable bravery.

This spring, during a volunteer luncheon at our Senior Center, Jack sprang into action to extinguish a fire. His cool demeanor and professional response not only prevented significant damage to the building but also showcased the true spirit of our community.

Thank you, Jack, for embodying the ideals of preparedness and service. You are an inspiring example of what it means to be a dedicated community member!
