🚨 EMS is more than lights and sirens. Our crews also prioritize education, engagement, and being present in the communities we serve!

In 2025 alone, we supported 379 community events across our service area. These moments often allow us to connect with people in a different way, outside of just emergency response, and help build trust, awareness, and understanding around EMS.

🤝 We are proud to show up in all the ways that matter, and grateful to be part of the communities we serve.

Happy EMS Week! 🚑❤️ Thank you to all of our EMTs, Paramedics, and RNs who provide life-saving care to our communities. In life's most critical situations, you answer the call without hesitation, and respond with courage.

At Gold Cross Ambulance, we all see firsthand the dedication, resilience, and compassion it takes to do this work. No two days are ever the same, but the commitment to helping others never changes.

We’d also like to recognize the firefighters, police officers, dispatchers, healthcare teams, and all emergency personnel we proudly work alongside. It's truly an honor to serve with you.

7 years. Never forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers with our partners at Appleton Fire Department and the Lundgaard family as continue to honor the legacy of Mitch.

The crew of 9321 responded to the report of an unconscious male on a bus at the Valley Transit Center. The patient was quickly revived from a drug overdose, regained consciousness, and walked off the bus. The situation soon escalated after the patient refused transport to the hospital. He pulled a handgun from his pocket and began shooting. Driver Engineer Mitch Lundgaard was struck in the chest. Police officers on scene exchanged gunfire with the suspect, killing him. Despite the heroic best efforts of his crew, Gold Cross paramedics, and the emergency room staff at ThedaCare Hospital to save Driver Engineer Lundgaard, he passed away. Mitch is survived by his wife and their three young sons. He was 36 years old.

Today we had the privilege of attending a graduation ceremony at the FVTC Public Safety Training center. Eight Gold Cross employees celebrated the successful completion of their paramedic course. We can't wait to see their impact to the community!

Kevin's story is a powerful reminder that access to a public AED is critical during a cardiac emergency. When he collapsed during a normal workout at the gym, bystanders stepped in and life-saving care began before EMS arrived.

When Steve suffered a cardiac arrest on the golf course, the actions of the people around him made all the difference. In this video, Steve and his wife Bonnie share their story and the critical role early bystander intervention played before EMS arrived on scene.

This is what it’s all about, folks. ❤️

A few years ago, Nevaeh was one of our patients. Recently, she wanted the opportunity to meet the crew who helped save her life — and we were honored to reunite them for a truly heartwarming visit.

Nevaeh brought thoughtful thank-you gifts for Mariah and Lily and was able to personally express her gratitude. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do.

During her visit, Nevaeh shared that she’s now interested in pursuing a career in the medical field and may one day become an EMT or paramedic herself! So, we gave her a behind-the-scenes look at what we do every day. She toured our facilities, explored one of our ambulances, learned a few skills from our crew, and even had the chance to try them herself.

We are incredibly grateful that Nevaeh wanted to reconnect with us. These moments mean the world to our crews and serve as powerful reminders of the impact this profession can have.

Most importantly, we are thankful to see Nevaeh thriving and doing so well today. We wish her nothing but success in all of her future endeavors! 🚑💙
