Do you have items left over from the Citywide Garage Sale this weekend?
We would be happy to take children's and teen books, DVDs, audiobooks, CDs, and puzzles off your hands and give you a receipt for tax purposes!
Donated items may be added to the collection, given to the Friends of the Library for their book & media sale, or donated elsewhere (e.g. Little Free Library).
All the details:
Thank you for considering donating materials to the Milan Public Library! We are happy to give you a receipt for tax purposes.
We appreciate your keeping in mind that we are a small library with limited space and staff to handle donations! :)
All items must be in good (saleable) condition. Please only donate items in a condition that you yourself would purchase.
We ask that you call ahead before bringing in donations. (Right now, we'll take any YOUTH donations; no need to call about those!)
We are currently accepting (in good condition):
Youth related materials (books, DVDs, music, audiobooks, puzzles) in good condition.
Books (fiction or nonfiction) and Music CDs from the past five years.
Audiovisual materials (audiobooks on CD, DVDs/BluRays) for all ages, with all discs
Magazines may be left on the free shelf in the lobby.
We cannot accept:
Puzzles (unless youth with fewer than 300 pieces) (at this time)
Damaged, moldy/musty, or dirty books. These items can be placed in the recycling bin adjacent to City Hall.
Books or Music CDs older than 5 years (unless youth).
Encyclopedias, Reader’s Digest, condensed books.
VHS or Audio Cassette Tapes
Donated items may be: 1) added to the library’s collections, 2) placed for sale in the Friends of the Library sale or 3) donated elsewhere.
