You know that feeling you have after you take a hot shower and put on fresh clothes? That, "I can conquer anything!" feeling? That feeling where not only are germs washed away, but so is the stress from yesterday? You know... THAT feeling?
Our Members feel it, too, every time they take a shower and put on fresh, donated clothes at ROTB.
Showers are more than a physical necessity, they are a mental necessity, as well. Everyone deserves to feel clean, radiant, and confident.
Thank you for helping make this possible.

Hello, Milwaukee!

A friendly reminder that our emergency warming room is open at 7pm overnight whenever the temperature is 32 or below. We repurposed some rooms and hired 3 additional staff to ensure we have enough room for social distancing.

If you can, please help us with our expenses. Every little bit helps!

On this snowy day, let us think of better times... like Christmas! Here at the Breach, our Members chose gifts like socks, undergarments, sweatshirts, hats, gloves, scarves, boots, watches, blankets, backpacks, and jeans. In addition, coats were given away, and there was also a raffle for every 10 Members that came through (numbers limited to 10 at a time for COVID safety). What did our Members win? Gift cards!

Today is winter solstice, and tonight is our longest night of the year. It's also Homeless Persons' Memorial Day, when we remember those who have died while experiencing homelessness. In 2020, that number was estimated to be 15,600 people.

It is with reverence to those who have passed, and a commitment to those without shelter now, that we announce that our emergency warming room will now be open at 32 degrees instead of 20 degrees.

Help keep us open. No one should freeze due to lack of housing.

Imagine going to a job interview in clothes that you've been wearing for days. Imagine your hair disheveled, despite doing your best to straighten it. You sit there, in a waiting room, along with other applicants in clean suits and polished shoes. Think about your confidence level. Think you'll get the job?
Now, imagine being freshly washed, hair combed, and you, too, are looking dapper in a clean suit and polished shoes. Where is your confidence level now?
That's what our Refuge and Resource Center program -clothing room and shower services do for someone. They level the playing field, so that you have just as much chance for the job as the others.
Thank you to all the donors and volunteers who make this possible.

As we begin feverishly shopping for our loved ones, let us remember those who are left out of the festivities because they are too busy looking for their next meal or shelter.

Did you know $8 covers warm coffee, a sustaining breakfast, and a hearty lunch for one person each day at Repairers of the Breach? $25 covers phone services for 2 days? $50 covers our energy bill for a day?

This Giving Tuesday, November 30th, consider the gift of hope.

We are more then half way there!!! Our children have been taught from an early age the importance of acts of goodness and kindness. This is especially true on one's birthday. Last week our youngest two turned 5 & accompanied their older siblings giving out food packages & challas. There is nothing more meaningful to the elderly to be remembered by children.
Greetings do you have storage space for the homeless to store their belongings?
🎄🎄 Merry Christmas 🎄🎄 And 🌹GOD BLESS 🎀
If you tell somebody to tell somebody I won't tell anybody who told you. The breakfast is free & so are the uplifting words. Mario the Poet told you but just between us.
I heard some cities are putting in Vending machines that the homeless can get free items from twice a week with the slip of a credit-like card to help their needs. Has anybody done that in Milwaukee yet?
Help. There was a man outside of Beans & Barley. Obviously very cold very thin jacket. Hard to understand but he was trying to get a coat. We told him we'd go get him one and bring it back. He wanted to go with us (because the lady from Beans and Barley was kicking him out of their lot I believe). I think he wanted warmth but really wanted a coat! He was black, thin, jeans fallen below his rear, missing teeth on the bottom. Hard for him to communicate. I don't know where goes at night. Felt so bad and if we went and got him a coat he most likely would be gone. Do you help find people like this? No gloves, navy very thin jacket. Wsa there today at around 9:30 10a.m.

We need to create some org. that buy land. { a group of us get together to buy land and form an org to make the purchase} We then create eco villages, that live by the principles of NON VIOLENT COMMUNICATION by Marshall Rosenberg. We can create a cooperative if we choose, but we should definitely raise some food. Our homes can be tiny house eco of grid homes. We need to start this right away.
Lately, we at Casa Maria had a lot of donated. We have no room for it so it is in the alley behind Casa. If you have room anywhere for it, we could bring it to you. Please let us know. Call me at 414-342-0158.
THANK GOD the $200M funding will not be cut
