Minnesota Sentinels Hockey

Minnesota Sentinels Hockey For Military Veterans, Service Members, and First Responders who love hockey and are seeking an inclusive and friendly hockey family. "Keep The Watch"

MISSION - To provide a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable environment for Military Veterans, Active-Duty personnel, and all First Responders through the game of hockey. Minnesota Sentinels Hockey is dedicated to serving military veterans, active-duty members, National Guard, Reservists, and all First Responders. Our mission is centered on fostering camaraderie, promoting team building, and cultivating

a sense of belonging to a community greater than oneself. Join us and become a part of a military-based hockey team in the State of Hockey. We extend our invitation to all service members and veterans who have honorably served or are currently serving, including our disabled veterans. There is no requirement for prior hockey experience; all that's needed is a passion for the game and a willingness to join a special group of individuals. Our aim is to provide a safe space for physical activity and to facilitate meaningful connections among peers.

Well folks... the Hero Invitational has come and gone for the Minnesota Sentinels.

Did it go our way?

Absolutely not.

Not even remotely.

But you know what? We had an absolute blast anyway!
There were unforgettable laughs, friendships renewed, new faces welcomed into the chaos, shots taken directly to the face (good news: all teeth remain accounted for), spectacular falls, questionable hockey decisions, and an alarming amount of pickles consumed.

At the end of the day, we got two games of hockey, time with some incredible people, and memories that will last far longer than the bruises.

Now for our tournament honors!
Friday Night Big Dill Award goes to Nick "Village People" Hathaway, who once again brought the energy, the effort, and probably a few dance moves.

Saturday's Big Dill honors belong to the legendary Kato Crew:
Ms. Daddy
The Right Angle
Mr. Posty

These three are the definition of ride-or-die teammates. Doesn't matter who we're playing, where we're playing, or what time the puck drops—they show up, show out, and leave absolutely everything they have on the ice.

With the Hero Invitational now in the books, the Sentinels officially enter our offseason. This means team skates, team building, and intensive scientific research into two critical questions:
1. How do we score more goals?
2. How do we stop the other team from scoring more goals than us?

The answers remain elusive.
But have no fear...
WE WILL RETURN.

This fall we'll host our 4th Annual Honor & Remember 9/11 Game, and in November we'll once again head into battle looking to bring the Axe back where it belongs—Minnesota! Veterans Border Battle – Battle for the AXE V!

Until then, thank you to everyone who skated with us, cheered for us, supported us, and embraced the chaos.
See you at the rink.

June 6, 1944 — D-Day

Today, we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice, and unimaginable bravery of the men who stormed the beaches of Normandy.

On this day, thousands of young Americans — alongside Allied forces — faced impossible odds, stepping into uncertainty, chaos, and fear for something greater than themselves: freedom.

Many never made it home. Many carried the weight of that day for the rest of their lives. Their courage helped change the course of history and secured liberties many of us often take for granted.

At the Minnesota Sentinels, made up of Veterans, Active Duty, First Responders, and supporters, we understand that service comes with sacrifice — and we recognize that the freedoms we enjoy today were paid for by generations who answered the call before us.

Today, we honor the heroes of D-Day not just in memory, but through action: by living lives worthy of their sacrifice, supporting one another, and never forgetting the cost of freedom.

“To those who gave everything on the shores of Normandy — we remember you. We honor you. We thank you.”

Come out to the Hero Invitational and spend the weekend with some truly amazing people! Every team taking the ice is made up of men and women who, at one point or another, chose to run toward the danger when others were running away.

But this event is about more than hockey. It's about the families, friendships, and communities that stand behind these heroes every single day.

We're honored to share the ice with such an incredible group of teams, players, and supporters. So grab your family, bring your friends, and come cheer on a great cause while enjoying some fantastic hockey.

We'll see you at the rink!

IT'S FINALLY HERE!

Hero Invitational Weekend is here, and your Sentinels are ready for battle!

We're guaranteed two games, and we already know our first opponent: the Hennepin Generals. No matter how the bracket shakes out, Round 2 will bring another familiar challenge, as we've had some great battles with both Daily Grind and the Crystal/New Hope Police Hockey Team. We'll know more later this evening.

And, as has become a questionable Sentinel tradition, Saturday will mark the official transformation into the BIG DILL SENTINELS.

If you're looking for something to do this weekend, come out to Stillwater, watch some great hockey, and help support a great cause. We'll be honoring and supporting military members and first responders while raising money for Soldiers 6.

See you at the rink!

What a weekend for our players who played in the Hendrickson Hockey Festival in Blaine!

The Minnesota Sentinels would like to extend a MASSIVE congratulations to all of our Sentinel players and our hockey family down south, in the Tulsa Warriors and the Kansas City Warriors on bringing home hardware in their respective championship tiers!

To our Sentinels who battled all weekend long, left everything on the ice, and found a way to get the job done—take a bow, beauts. Championships aren't won by accident. They're earned through hard work, sacrifice, teamwork, and a healthy amount of locker room nonsense.

And to our "sister teams,” the Tulsa Warriors and Kansas City Warriors—congratulations on once again proving why champions carry themselves like champions. Enjoy every second of it.

For everyone who hoisted a trophy this weekend:
Take the pictures.
Hold the hardware
Celebrate with your teammates.
Thank your families and supporters.
Soak it all in.
Because moments like these don't come around every day.
..But don't get too comfortable, Sentinels.
The celebration bus is making a very short stop.
The clock is already ticking.
The bags are staying packed.

Because THIS WEEKEND we return to the grind at the Hero Invitational Hockey Tournament.
New opponents.
New challenges.
Same mission.

Congratulations again to all our champions. Now enjoy the moment—then let's get back to work.
