PUBLIC NOTICE: The Morrisville Police Department will undergo an assessment on June 18, 2026, as part of its pursuit of law enforcement accreditation. This assessment, conducted by the North Carolina Law Enforcement Accreditation (NCLEA) program, is designed to ensure that our department meets established professional standards.

The accreditation process evaluates various aspects of law enforcement operations, including policies and procedures, administration, support services, training, facilities management, safety, and record-keeping. These standards are crucial for maintaining high-quality public safety services.

We invite both agency employees and community members to provide feedback on the Morrisville Police Department's adherence to NCLEA's standards. Comments should be submitted via email or mail by June 17, 2026, one day before the on-site assessment. All feedback will be reviewed by the Assessment Team.

In the U.S., gun violence claims the lives of approximately 48,000 people every year, according to the CDC.
The Morrisville Police Department encourages everyone to practice safe and responsible firearm ownership.

✅ Always store fi****ms unloaded and locked away.
✅ Keep ammunition stored separately.
✅ Use gun safes, lockboxes, or gun locks.
✅ Talk with family members about firearm safety.

If you own a firearm, make sure it’s secured and inaccessible to children or unauthorized individuals. Together, we can help prevent accidents and save lives.

The Morrisville Police Department would like to remind residents of some tips to stay safe and report crime:

• “If you see something, say something.” Stay alert, be mindful of your surroundings, and stay cautious. Your awareness is your first line of defense. Report any suspicious activity by calling 911.

On Friday, the Morrisville Police Department had the honor of participating in the 4.5-mile final leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Known as Guardians of the Flame, law enforcement members and Special Olympics athletes carry the Flame of Hope into the Opening Ceremony of local competitions.
