🎉📣 CALLING ALL FUTURE CHEER STARS! 📣🎉

Narragansett Parks & Rec is bringing the spirit, the stunts, and the SASS this fall with Youth Cheer! 🏆✨

Is your little one ready to learn cheers, dances, jumps, stunts, and tumbling — all while making new friends in a fun, positive, and supportive environment? This one's for YOU! 💕

🗓️ Starts: Thursday, September 17th
⏰ When: Every Thursday for 8 weeks
👧 Ages: 5–11 (grades K–5)
• K–2nd: 4:00–5:30pm
• 3rd–5th: 5:30–7:00pm
📍 Where: The Clarke Center, 170 Clarke Road, Narragansett
💰 Cost: $295 per child

From cheers & jumps to dances & motions, beginner-friendly stunting, tumbling basics, and an end-of-season performance to show off all their hard work — this program is all about being Brave. Confident. Strong. 💪🎀

Run by CheerWorks Youth Cheerleading, our girls (and boys!) will build confidence, teamwork, and school spirit in a space that's as encouraging as it is energetic! 🙌

The school buses are back starting today, which means it’s time for all of us to slow down and pay attention. 👀

🛑 Red lights flashing? STOP.
🚸 Give students plenty of room to get on and off the bus.
🚗 Slow down around school zones and bus stops.
📵 Put the phone down and keep your eyes on the road.

And please remember: being in a hurry is not a good reason to put a kid in danger.

🦪New this year at the Rhode Island Calamari Festival: OYSTERS!

The Narragansett Chamber of Commerce is excited to welcome a Rhode Island Oyster Showcase to this year’s festival, featuring several local oyster farms serving freshly shucked oysters under one tent.

🍽️Oysters will be available for purchase at the event with tokens, making it easy for oyster lovers to sample from their favorite local farms while enjoying the full Calamari Festival experience.

🦑Your general Calamari Festival admission includes calamari tastings from participating restaurants, live music, restaurant pop-ups, desserts from Job Corps, and family-friendly activities. Guests can also visit the Beer Tent, vote for their favorite calamari dish, and enjoy oysters as an added festival feature.

🌊Join us on Saturday, September 19, from 11-4pm at Veterans Park, adjacent to the Narragansett Towers.

Come support Rhode Island’s squid fishermen, local chefs, oyster farmers, and the seafood community that makes this event so special.
