✅One giant tank. One giant test.

The 51-foot-tall liquid oxygen tank for Artemis IV recently underwent hydrostatic proof testing, where it was rotated vertically and filled with roughly 196,000 to 200,000 gallons of water to simulate the mass, pressure, and dynamic loads of actual flight propellant.

The tank, which will form part of the SLS (Space Launch System) rocket's core stage, was then rotated back to a horizontal configuration and placed into two static cradles in the main aisle of the vertical assembly building.

Suit up. Artemis III is getting real. 🚀🌕

Today’s suited training session prepares the crew for the upcoming NASA Artemis III mission, where astronauts will test docking procedures between Orion and commercial human landing systems. The suited training allows the crew to gain familiarization with the suit while interacting with the Orion mockup.

Engine #4 has entered the chat🔥

The final RS-25 engine for Artemis III has made its way to NASA's Kennedy Space Center where it will soon be integrated with the SLS (Space Launch System) core stage along with the other engines.

Manufactured and tested just down the road at NASA's John C. Stennis Space Center, this powerful quartet will provide around two million pounds of thrust needed for launch.

When your commute involves Artemis IV rocket hardware...

In May, teams here at moved the 130-foot liquid hydrogen tank for the SLS (Space Launch System) rocket’s core stage to a test facility for proof testing.

Now that testing is complete, the tank has been returned to the main factory where it will wait to be moved into the facility’s vertical assembly building for cleaning operations.

Three down, one to go!

The third RS-25 engine has arrived in Florida, bringing the Artemis launch team one step closer to a full set of four for the SLS (Space Launch System) core stage.

Together, these four engines will generate more than 2 million pounds of thrust at liftoff. Just one engine remains before integration can begin!
