NORA recently welcomed the latest Façade RENEW Plus recipients for an afternoon of connection, learning, and preparation!

Recipients got an inside look at the program, learned best practices for improving and maintaining their façades, and had the opportunity to connect with fellow participants who are investing in the future of their properties and neighborhoods.

We’re excited to support this next group of Façade RENEW Plus recipients as they bring their projects to life and help strengthen New Orleans.

Wilcox Academy recently celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting of its new Central City campus — a transformational investment in children, families, educators, and the future of the neighborhood.

The new campus will serve up to 150 children across 13 classrooms while creating approximately 30 jobs. But the vision extends beyond the classroom. The development also includes affordable housing that prioritizes early childhood educators, while remaining available to other eligible residents, along with wraparound supports for families, including family coaching, take-home meals, and connections to health care and other resources.

As a recipient of the New Orleans ECE Facilities Fund Grant, this project demonstrates what’s possible when we invest in early childhood education and the communities that make it thrive by bringing partners together to expand opportunities, strengthen families, and create a brighter future for generations to come.

Congratulations to Rochelle Wilcox, the Wilcox Academy team, and all of the community partners who helped bring this vision to life!

A new chapter is breaking ground in Gentilly!

NORA was proud to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for Xavior Estates, marking an exciting milestone for the Gentilly community and the future of this neighborhood.

As part of NORA’s New Orleans Housing Investment Program (NOHIP) 2025, this project reflects our continued commitment to supporting affordable housing development and investment in communities across the city.

This project also represents more than new construction; it’s a powerful example of Black entrepreneurship and development helping shape the future of New Orleans.

Congratulations to the Xavior Estates team on this exciting milestone! We’re proud to celebrate this investment in our city and look forward to watching this project come to life.

The Act of Transfer authorizing the transfer of several NORA-owned properties recently passed, paving the way for a long-term partnership with Confetti Kids to construct a new playground for the Algiers community.

This project is a great example of the power of public-private partnerships and collaboration. By working together, we’re creating a lasting community asset that will serve neighborhood families for years to come while advancing the revitalization of Algiers.
