The MHA Emergency Operations Center is pleased to announce an upcoming HAZWOPER Awareness training in partnership with WSFD!
This training is designed to provide participants with a basic overview of HAZWOPER, potential hazardous substance exposures, and the associated safety and health risks. Participants will gain increased awareness of hazardous materials hazards and response preparedness within our area.

10:00 AM – 11:00 AM

The is seeking the public's assistance in locating Damiana Guzman, a 17-year-old female. Damiana was last seen on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 8 p.m. in south Fargo.

Damiana was last seen wearing a beige Nike sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and black/white/beige shoes.

This training is designed to help participants recognize the need for ✅Advanced planning
✅Understand personnel roles within an organized response structure
✅Align those roles with required OSHA training levels.
Participation in this training supports stronger community preparedness, improves coordinated emergency response efforts, and enhances the safety and resilience of both responders and the public during critical incidents.
Training Details:
Date: May 27, 2026
Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Location: MHA Emergency Operations Center, 8880 Hwy 23B, New Town, ND
Audience: Open to the general public
Format: In-person or virtual

Satellite imagery reveals the extent of the widespread and significant blowing dust this afternoon. The brighter colors on this image show where the dust is, thickest in northwest and north central North Dakota where drastic visibility reductions will continue through this evening. Blowing Dust Warnings and Advisories remain in effect for much of western and all of north central North Dakota until 9 PM CDT or 8 PM MDT this evening.
