Last evening, we marked Singapore’s 61st birthday with our Singaporean community at the United Nations.

The Permanent Mission of Singapore to the UN, together with the Singapore Consulate in New York and Singapore Global Network, was delighted to bring everyone together for an evening of familiar Singapore flavours, warm conversations, old friends and new connections.

To everyone who joined us — thank you for making the evening such a special one. No matter how far we may be from home, occasions like this remind us of the ties that keep us connected to Singapore and to one another.

We are pleased to have co-sponsored the Regenerative Communities Summit, organised by the Consortium for Sustainable Urbanisation (Consortium for Sustainable Urbanization), on 21 July. The event was an opportunity to explore what regenerative design means: building communities that give back more than they take. The discussions challenged us to think about how we govern for the long term, when we so often measure progress in years. Singapore’s own journey, from Garden City to City in Nature, shows that long horizons become achievable when we build them into our institutions. Thank you to CSU for convening such a rich exchange!

At , 🇸🇬 co-hosted an event on “Digitization, Statistics & AI” with 🇷🇼 🇯🇲 and . Our Chief Statistician Dr. Koh Eng Chuan delivered a keynote on how Singapore uses AI to turn diverse data into official statistics interoperable across agencies and borders.

Strong data systems are the foundation of every SDG.

A meaningful Saturday spent giving back! Our Singapore Mission team and our families had the privilege of volunteering at Meatloaf Kitchen, helping to prepare and serve meals to the community. It was a wonderful opportunity to serve alongside one another and support an organisation that has been making a difference in New York for decades. Thank you, Meatloaf Kitchen, for having us!

Last week, the Singapore Mission 🇸🇬🇺🇳 hosted a group of students from the National University of Singapore (NUS). Over a wide-ranging discussion, we explored Singapore’s priorities at the UN, how a small state works through multilateral institutions and builds partnerships across regions, and the key issues shaping the international agenda today.

Beyond the formal proceedings of the General Assembly, diplomacy is the patient work of building trust, finding common ground, and upholding the international rules that allow small states to thrive.
