Nicholson Fire and Rescue Department extends our deepest condolences to our brothers and sisters in Rockdale County Fire Rescue following the tragic loss of one of their firefighters in the line of duty.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the firefighter’s family, friends, and the entire Rockdale County Fire Rescue family during this incredibly difficult time. May they find strength, comfort, and support in the days ahead.

Please keep all those affected by this loss in your thoughts and prayers.

At 8:45 this morning Nicholson Fire Personnel with assistance from South Jackson, Commerce and JCCI Fire and JC Med6 were paged out to a structure fire on New Kings Bridge Road- Nicholson. Upon arrival units found a barn fully involved with several adjacent structures endangered. Fire was extinguished. No injuries reported. Thanks to South Jackson Fire Department for some of the photos.

Nicholson Fire Personnel responded to a half acre hayfield on fire on Hwy 334. Fire is under control now and units are back in service.
