Zero Emission Vehicle Action Plan

After more than 2 years of planning with extensive community input, the City of Oakland's Department of Transportation and Sustainability and Resilience Division are proud to announce the release of the Oakland Zero Emission Vehicle Action Plan. The Plan provides a roadmap for eliminating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and air pollution from vehicles by 2045. It centers a holistic approach to mobility: Transition as many people and activities away from private vehicles as possible; and ensure that all remaining vehicles run on carbon-free, renewable electricity. The Plan also has actions to ensure that more low-income, BIPOC, and other frontline communities have convenient access to charging infrastructure so that purchasing or using electric vehicles can become a reality.

For more information, or to download the Plan, visit the ZEV Action Plan website (https://tinyurl.com/oakZEVplan) or email [email protected].

THE YEAR OF THE RABBIT

The Year of the Rabbit begins January 22, 2023 and lasts until February 9, 2024. The rabbit symbolizes patience and luck. This year should be a fruitful one. All the work you've put in last year shall bear fruit this year, especially for those who are pure of heart. There will be an extra bit of luck for those willing to take the chance. The rabbit is a symbol of fertility, so it should be a good year for those looking to add to their families, and those starting a new venture.

Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao released the following statement in advance of the release of the Memphis police video of the brutal beating of Tyre Nichols. The five officers responsible have been charged with murder and other felonies:

“Tyre Nichols should be with us today. It is wrong and horrifying that this young man was killed. It hurts me to know Tyre's family had to see a video of their son and loved one being brutally beaten and will likely see it again and again in the days ahead. I cannot imagine their pain. It is traumatic and it is understandable that Americans all over our nation are angry and disgusted. I hope that the serious charges against the officers who killed him will bring a measure of justice to his family and I know all of Oakland stands with them today.

“Tyre’s mother said last night, ‘I want each and every one of you to protest in peace,’ and I urge all Oaklanders to respect her wishes. We stand with Tyre Nichols’ family.”

Oakland cares about the safety and well being of every member of our community.

We understand the video of the attack includes disturbing and hateful material. Anyone who feels themselves in crisis is urged to call the national su***de and crisis lifeline at 988.

Locally, help can also be accessed by contacting Mobile Assistance Community Responders of Oakland (MACRO) via 911 or email at [email protected]

The rare Comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) is flying by this week for the first time since the Stone Age! The best dates and times for viewing will be January 28 through February 4 after 9 p.m.

Comet gazers will need a telescope or pair of binoculars to see the object in the sky between the Big Dipper and the North Star in the Little Dipper. In bright areas impacted by light pollution, it will be too faint for naked-eye viewing.

Weather permitting, we’ll look at the comet during our free telescope viewings on Friday and Saturday night from 7:30-10:30 p.m. We’d love to see you there!

I haven't seen any improvements in Oakland since Mayor Libby! Tiny homes? Islands on the most congested streets? Lanes for buses?
What about affordable housing for the people who work and live here, the people who keep this city thriving. Where are public school funding?! Where are programs for low-income inner city children?!
Who's looking out for working families who can't make enough to afford the cost of living here.
Where is Mayor Libby?! I've lived in Oakland my whole life and have never seen her face aside from the news here and there.
If you can't do your job, step aside and let someone who actually cares do it for you!!

Dear council members

I plead with you to vote to keep the Oakland A’s in Oakland where they belong. The long term financial impact will be positive, keep jobs, and create new opportunities for minority lead business to thrive. It is nearly impossible to have a major sport franchise in one’s city. Oakland has 2 Crown Jewels that unite all Oaklanders and for a few hours in the day there is peace and love in the air. Lake Merritt and Oakland A’s baseball. For the sake of kids all over the bay and citizens like myself. Please vote to keep what’s ours. There is a line from the 1989 baseball movie Field of Dreams” Build it and they will come”

Thank you for your time and dedication to the city I call home Oakland! Go A’s!!
Happy Sunday City of Oakland Parking Citation Department - Before ticking my car --or any--for not displaying a parking sticker I would appreciate it if you'd check the parking app. I paid by phone yesterday and the parking was active while I was in the gym. Focus more attention on the shattered glass from car break-ins on 12th between Clay and Broadway. I enjoy this very important city. But, we all need to work together to make this the best place in the Bay to live and thrive.

BOOK DISCLOSURE - IMPACTING CRIMINOLOGY
The policeman is the main character of any police story in real life and being the protagonist of the investigation and the arrest, he has to be better than all the other professionals who will succeed him in the process: judge, prosecutor, defense attorney.
The modern police officer must have a broad and comprehensive understanding of crime in all its modalities, in order not to be outdated in its concepts and interpretations and become an ineffective public safety professional.
A full understanding of their work enables the modern policeman to immediately connect a prison to a voluntary action, however isolated, or to connect that prison to a criminal organization.
A simple prison is closed with the presentation of the culprit to a judge, but a complex prison has ramifications that will lead the Police to dismantle criminal organizations.
Both are harmful to society in all its aspects, but that action, when connected to a criminal organization, has a greater potential for danger and if not understood, isolated, neutralized and repressed; it will grow and become through planned actions of hybrid warfare, a real danger for the very organization of the State, because when it reaches this stage, SOCIAL CHAOS will already be installed and the domain of CRIMINOCRACY will emerge.
In order to provide data for a comparative study on this topic, I present my most recent book to fellow officers, whose synopsis is transcribed below:

PUBLISHED IN ENGLISH – 547 PAGES.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0978WP1FK?ref_=pe_3052080_397514860
BOOK SYNOPSIS
HETERODOX CRIMINOLOGY (CRIMINOCRACY versus CIVILIZATION), is a bold, daring and challenging book to CRIMINOCRACY.
In Brazilian and world literature, CRIMINOLOGY has been discussed by people who are studious and reputable in its objectives, but this criminal science has also been very contaminated by stories full of lies and distortions about the reality of the facts, with the aim of deceiving and deceiving any person who reads these lies and sophistries or who becomes aware of them.
The sophisms and lies in relation to Criminology in Brazil and in the world are part of efficient and effective actions of criminal hybrid warfare.
The first objective of these criminal hybrid war actions is to destroy the structure of a traditional society through the establishment of SOCIAL CHAOS and the inversion of moral and legal values conquered by Civilization.
The second objective of these criminal hybrid war actions is to neutralize and isolate the five organized societies of any country: CIVIL, POLITICAL, POLICE, LEGAL AND MILITARY.
The third objective of these criminal hybrid war actions is to occupy State Power and establish a new order: CRIMINOCRACY.
In these brief words, HETERODOX CRIMINOLOGY (CRIMINOCRACY versus CIVILIZATION) is a real ALERT to reputable people, as it is a book based on research carried out within the criminal underworld, dissecting its insides, to know its ways of acting in various modalities criminal in their origin and offer efficient and effective solutions to reverse this serious problem called: CRIMINOCRACY.
STAY ALERT AND PROTECT YOURSELF UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
CRIMINOCRACY IS CRUEL.

Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable
seeing two men holding guns than holding hands? ”
Stand up Oakland ChiefArmstron saturday. I born and raised in Oakland. Oakland will never change. Oakland do not have Love for One another. Oakland filled with Hate and violance since i lived here. Chief Armstrong and Libbly Schaaf cannot and will not change the People of Oakland not in ten years ..not in Hundred Years. Since i lived in Oakland Near Mac Arthur and Boadway.. all 10 bikes stolen from me, I was bullied everyday and developed a Mental dis-order being afraid of Public, my sister was sexually abused and thus killed herself, car break-in and house fire. our family was victimized until we were forced out of Oakland.so stand up for Oakland will not work. No one stand up for us went we were victimi9zed and killed.
Born and raised in Oakland: there are two kinds of People in Oakland: those that Hurt people and those who are victimized. It will never changed chief of police Armstrong.
