Getting rid of your old unwanted mattress is now easier than ever according to Senate bill 254, California’s Mattress Recovery Law.
Here are facilities that recycle used mattresses free of cost to all residents.

The Bay Area is in the midst of a heatwave and there’s no rain on the horizon. Here’s a smart watering garden tip: If your new plants are not on a drip irrigation system, deep watering is recommended. Deep water for up to 20 minutes on the soil around the plant, ideally in the morning. If you have mulch, add it around the plants—it helps retain more water in the soil. Schedule bulky service or purchase an extra waste tag to place on your 32-gallon trash bag.
If you have more plant debris than your cart can hold, place extra yard debris in large paper bags or cardboard boxes next to your compost cart on your next service day. Your compost driver will take it at no extra cost!
*Please note, plant material in plastic bags will be treated and charged as trash.
Certified collection centers will pay residents 40 cents per gallon of used motor oil and businesses 16 cents per gallon of used motor oil. Residents and businesses can drop off used motor oil and filters at Certified Collection Centers (CCC).
Find a CCC near you by visiting the CalRecycle site or contact CWS for a free kit.
