My niece helping me explain the Florida bass fingerling harvesting and stocking process!🐟👧🏼💫🎤

Over a span of three days, the Durant Hatchery traveled to nine lakes in southern Oklahoma and stocked roughly 767,891 Florida bass fingerlings across these lakes. The Florida bass take about 7-10 years to reach trophy sizes, but given that the ODWC has been stocking Florida bass since the 70’s, you could find your trophy bass today!

More fish habitat has been distributed in Eufaula Lake as part of a five-year Habitat Enhancement Project! This year, 271 new structures have been added to the lake, thanks to donations from the City of Eufaula, Major League Fishing, local anglers and the Fugitt Foundation, along with matched funds from ODWC.

Structures are important for popular fish, such as bass and crappie, who gather around downed trees, rocks and log jams. This habitat breaks down over time, so artificial structures supplement natural habitat in lakes.

This was the first time concrete reef balls have been used in the Oklahoma Fish Habitat Enhancement project.

You can find a map showing where fish attracting-structures have been placed at the link in the comments.
