ODWC, Major League Fishing and Kubota Tractor Corporation recently created a Tournament Recovery Zone at Lake Eufaula.

This zone provides bass a place to safely recover after post-tournament weigh-ins. The project utilized artificial MossBack structures designed to accelerate algae growth and build a healthy food chain.

This collaborative effort helps combat historic habitat degradation and water-level fluctuations, preserving fish habitat at Oklahoma’s largest reservoir for future generations of anglers.

Five invasive bighead carp were caught out of Elk River during a guided fishing trip this week! These filter feeders can consume up to 40% of their bodyweight in plankton each day and directly compete with native species.

High Water Guide Service turned the carp over to ODWC for research purposes.

If you catch a bighead, silver, grass or black carp in Oklahoma waters, please report it to ODWC's invasive carp biologist at 580-596-8025.

The information helps us better understand the distribution, abundance and population dynamics of this invasive species. That data guides management efforts to slow their spread and protect Oklahoma's fisheries.

A 12.1-pound bass in northeast Oklahoma! 🤯

Shane Hill and Todd Stolte landed this giant during a early July tournament at Lake Eucha. The fish earned Big Bass honors, helped secure 1st place, and broke the lake record—for the second time in 2026!

Lake Eucha has been producing great fishing this year, with baitfish and cover abundant it's a true gem of the Northeast! Our Northeast Region Management team has spent the last 10 years stocking Age 1+ Florida Largemouth Bass to improve trophy potential. Could this giant be the result of those stockings? Tissue samples will be genetically tested to find out. Stay tuned—we can't wait to share the results!
