Tonight (Wednesday, September 16) at 6:05 PM is the joint public hearing required for certain political subdivisions in Douglas County.

It will be held in the Legislative Chamber (second floor) of the Omaha-Douglas Civic Center | 1819 Farnam St. | Omaha, NE 68183. Free parking will be available in the public parking garage at 1910 Harney St. Attendees will be asked to enter the building through the Farnam Street entrance (in between 18th & 19th Streets).

The annual joint public hearing for certain political subdivisions in Douglas County, required by the Property Tax Request Act, is Wednesday, September 16, at 6:05 PM in the Legislative Chamber (second floor) of the Omaha-Douglas Civic Center | 1819 Farnam St. | Omaha, NE 68183.

Property owners will be notified of this joint public hearing via postcard. The postcard also provides estimated changes to the owner's 2026 tax bill specific only to the portion of their property tax bill that goes to the County, their city, and/or their school district.

For those who wish to appeal the Douglas County Board of Equalization's decision on their 2026 real property valuation protest(s): today is the deadline to submit an appeal to the Tax Equalization and Review Commission.

A Constitutional body created to provide a simpler, less expensive avenue of appeal for property owners to challenge the assessment of property in Nebraska.
