The Select Board officially committed property taxes at tonight's meeting. The mil rate was set at 11.7.

Tax bills will be mailed out next week. The two payments will be due on 10/31/26 and 4/30/27.

Avoid Additional Fees by pay any remaining balance on 2025-26 taxes ("last year's taxes") in full by tomorrow. 30-day lien notices will be sent for unpaid balances after July 31, 2026.

[This year's 2027 Taxes are scheduled for commitment at the August 5 Select Board meeting. Those tax bills should arrive mid-August and will have 2 payments: 10/31/26 and 4/30/27.]

We have had some residents say they were unable to register their vehicles online and wondered why. Here are a few reasons why you may not have been able to register your vehicle on the Rapid Renewal website:

Your registration expired more than 7 months ago
Your registration expires more than 2 months from now
You must renew in person if your vehicle is in one of the following categories:
Island Use
Emergency
Coach
Over 12,000 pounds GVW
Apportioned
Special mobile equipment
Tractor
Municipal or State vehicle
If you are required to file an SR-22
