📢 Attention RI Seniors: The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) season begins June 1 and will provide eligible seniors with $50 benefit cards to buy fresh, local RI Grown food. 🍅🥕

Nearly 7,000 preloaded cards will be available at senior centers statewide, valid through November 30. The cards work at eligible farmers markets and farm stands. No smartphone is needed – just scan the QR code to purchase 💳.

Apply to receive your card through your local senior center or nutrition program.

Kick off the summer season at the Farm Fresh RI Armory Park Farmers Market with the first Concert in the Park of the year, presented by Farm Fresh RI, WBNA, & Moniker Brewery.

This week, our Hope’s Harvest team and 6 incredible volunteers gleaned 660 pounds of rhubarb from Little River Farm—all distributed to 6 hunger relief agencies across Rhode Island. ❤️

Fun fact: rhubarb is technically a vegetable, even though it’s most often used like a fruit in pies, jams, and desserts! Its bright pink stalks are packed with flavor (but don’t eat the leaves — those aren’t edible!).

Every glean helps connect fresh, local food with neighbors who can use it most, while also supporting farmers and ensuring good food doesn’t go to waste.

We’re always looking for more farm partners throughout the growing season! If you’re a farmer with surplus crops, fields to glean, or already-harvested produce available for donation, we’d love to hear from you. Reach out and help us keep fresh local food flowing to communities across RI! 🚜🥬
